A wooden piece from the riverside doorway of the Taj subjected to the
Carbon-14 test by an American laboratory, has revealed the door to be around 300 years older than Shahjahan,
Since the doors of the Taj, broken open by Muslim invaders replaced from the 11th century onwards, had to be replaced from time to time proves the Taj edifice is much older. It belongs to 1155 AD i.e. almost 500 years anterior to Shahjahan.

Evidence provided to Archaeological Survey of India and Prime Minister goes unheeded.

Dear Mr Nagaraja I am an archiect and an architectural historian. My seciality is the application of scientific dating to ancient monuments...
I have been concerned with the Taj mahal for a number oy years May I suggest you consider the possibility of my coming backfor a week. The harm to the monument will be infinitesimal.

The basic investigation would be of brick samples taken from perhaps 20 locations .
The results would be reliable within 100 years on ether side.......

The Taj Mahal is well dated on documentary evidence, Moreover BARC, Mumbai and Physical Research Lab in Ahemdabad are also seized of the problem and it is not considered desirable to have any further investigation
