Foreword - The Author

An overview of the expose by the author about how facts have been distorted over centuries and then covered up by successive Indian governments including coercion to prevent the facts reaching the general public of India

To bottom

The book "TAJ MAHAL - THE TRUE STORY" - The Tale of a temple Vandalised under a different title was first published in 1968 by an India publishing house the second revised edition was published also in India in 1969

The book was well received by the Indian public. However the government of India under Indira Gandhi cold-shouldered the book and the requests made by the author to investigate into the origin of the Tajmahal were totally ignored by the national government. In fact the popularity of the book among the Indian public displeased the Indian authorities. Many years passed by and the untruths of the Taj went on being taught in Indian school and colleges, unhindered.

Then there appeared Prof. Marvin H Mills, on the scene, all the way from New York. His quest for the truth finally brought him to the shores of India on three consecutive occasions in order to research the matter of the Taj in depth. Eventually Prof. Mills succeeded in taking a few samples from the Taj and crucial carbon tests were made for dating the materials. It was clearly proven by these tests that the TAJMAHAL was older than Shahjahan period by several hundred years. It was thus impossible for the mogul king to build the edifice during his reign

THIS REVELATION WHEN MADE PUBLIC, SHOOK UP THE INDIRA GOVERNMENT. IT DID NOT WANT THE TRUTH TO COME OUT IN THE OPEN FOR FEAR OF ANTAGONISING THE MOSLEM MINORITY IN INDIA.

The Indian publisher was told to get all the Tajmahal books back from the bookstores but it was impossible as all the books were already distributed all over the country.
It was then that the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) of India threatened the poor publisher with dire consequences and ordered him not to reprint the book or the Government of India would file legal suits against him
It was then that the we as publishers decide to print the book in Houston, United States of America the bastion of free press and free speech.

It remains to be seen if the truth about the Tajmahal, can now be told without fear and outside interference from interested parties!

Taj Mahal - The True Story by P N Oak (the author) tells us a fascinating story of discovery in his own inimitable style.

The reader will find it most engrossing; and those planning to visit India to see the Taj, would do well to read this book as it will make the trip to India extremely fruitful.
