Qualified BDS from Newcastle University in 1991. Mike then spent four years working in general practice at another practice in Northallerton. To broaden his horizon's, he moved to York in 1995 where he worked as the dentist for the employees at the Nestlé Rowntrees Factory. He now works in a practice at Thirsk for 3 days a week.
Mike is married to Lesley, herself a dentist, and they havefour children, Michael (1995), Emma (1997), James (2000)
and Elizabeth (2001)
Mike is a practising Christian and a governor of Sacred Heart RC Primary School, Northallerton. In the little time he has left to himself he tries to keep his private pilot's licence current, flying from Bagby airfield near Thirsk.
