Membership

Membership of the Walkington Society is open only to those whose surname is – or has once been – Walkington.

Associate Membership of the Society may sometimes be offered to someone who has, or has had, a close relative or an ancestor called Walkington, or who has a genuine interest in the Walkington name.

The Joining Fee is usually ten pounds for UK members (£15 sterling overseas). (But, if this will be a difficulty, then some other amount of your own choosing will be acceptable.) The Joining Fee also covers any further membership contribution for a while.

Thereafter, from time to time, usually quite infrequently, members are invited to respond to a request for a contribution (of an amount of their own choosing) towards the cost of the newsletter and of minor incidentals.
