group of thirty local enthusiasts led by local church organist, Nelson
Govier

Govier succeeded by Douglas Rogers who directs
choir until outbreak of war in 1939.

1945

Choir reformed by the Govier family, with just
forty members.
|
|
1948
|
Robert Vivian transforms choir to perform major
oratorios with soloist of national repute. Membership grows to more
than a hundred.

|
1974
|
Robert Vivian retires and Julian Williamson
continues tradition of top class performances with professional
orchestra and soloists.

20 Year celebration for Julian Williamson - Dream
of Gerontius

Double Celebration Concert. Centenary of Ware Drill
Hall and the 25th anniversary of Julian Williamson as the Society's
conductor - Verdi Reqiuem.
