  KERRY JAMES 1959-2006
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our societies secretary Kerry James.

Kerry joined the Weston-super-Mare Family History Society in 1996 and was soon recognised as a youthful, cheerful and enthusiastic member.  Almost immediately she volunteered to help with projects and to represent the Society at Open Days and at the Library Help Sessions. She was elected Secretary in 2000 and later also became Secretary of the South West Group of Family History Societies – making her well known and respected throughout the area, especially when she coordinated the SWAG Winter Gardens Fair – held every two years. She gave us several talks – about her experiences in Salt Lake City, her visit to Canada to meet up with relations found during her research and early this year a summary of some of her own family history – linking her with the Gunpowder Plot! We will remember her with affection and gratitude, for her friendship, the lively spirit she brought to her role with the Society, and for her bravery and optimism in her approach to illness.

JOHN FULLER

It is also sad to announce the death of another society member John Fuller who recently gave an interesting talk to the society on the Boys brigade.

The society is running a trip to the FRC on 11th October this year, cost £13pp payable in advance and non returnable.
