Graham Dale-Jones (M.D.) and Dave Hill (co-director) run International Engine Services. Previously they worked together at Terry Hoyle Engines. Prior to joining Terry Hoyle, Dave was an engine builder at Mountune. In 1970 after university Graham joined Cosworth and spent nine years learning race engine engineering with the company.
After Cosworth, Graham turned his attention to yachting for a few years. He came back to motor sport to run the Ford motor sport engine department at Borham. Here Graham oversaw development of the RS 200 turbo engine. He also devised a 2.1 litre version of the DFX turbo for the Probe IMSA GTP car and turbocharged version of the 3.9 litre DFL for Group C.
Having joined Terry Hoyle as a partner in 1988, Graham got involved in diverse projects including the design of the BRM V12 Group C engine, which was sadly under funded. In 1992 he left Hoyle to do consultancy work in Holland. At the same time Dave left to run IES, which he had set up with Graham.
Graham is now full time at IES who have premises of 2500sq.ft. in Witham, Essex U.K. They have two dynamometers, employ five engine builders, four of whom do track side support at meetings. IES prepares Nissan Group N/N-plus engines on behalf of the factory. Customer teams are active in Belgium, the UK, Germany, Denmark, and Turkey. IES also prepares Nissan Super Touring engines for customer teams, including half a dozen cars in Sweden and produces a Nissan V6 sports car engine for the Pilbeam ISRS contender.
