Joe's shop in Boundary Road, which was opened as a newsagents by his mother Sarah in 1921, had previously been a clothes shop. In 1994 the pie shop next door was acquired and the shop extended. During the works the shelf (pictured below) was discovered.This may indicate when the shop was built.

 

 

The bricksetters have been on strike since June 1st and no sign of a settlement yet. .
